Read a bulletin from NIST that changed how I run sensor wire
Found out last week that running alarm wire parallel to electrical lines can pick up interference even through shielded cable above 24 inches. Has anyone else re-run a job because of voltage induction issues?

Was the bulletin from NIST or did you get that from a tech rep? What exactly did it say about the distance threshold?

Wait, was it an actual NIST thing or just a vendor's take on it? My buddy works in a lab and he called me last month all stressed because their rep told them the bulletin said anything under 1.5 meters is considered direct contact, but he couldn't find a reference number to back it up. He was trying to calibrate a new sensor setup and the whole team was fighting about whether their distance threshold was 1.2 or 1.8 meters based on what the rep whispered in their ear.
