Paid $200 for a panel firmware update tool I barely use

I bought this ICP programmer last spring to update an old DSC panel at a job in Austin. Cost me $200 and I've used it maybe twice since then. The update itself took like 10 minutes and fixed a false alarm issue I'd been chasing for weeks. Anyone else ever buy a specialty tool for one job and regret the cost?

$200 is a lot for something you barely touch, but at least it fixed that annoying false alarm issue.

Drop the $200 on a magic button that does nothing 99% of the time but saves you from wanting to throw the whole thing out the window when it goes off. Honestly, peace of mind costs more than that these days, so it's not the worst deal ever. Plus now you can brag about your "smart home" without your friends thinking you're a liar.
