My toddler followed me around during a full house install, mimicking my wire checks.

It was cute but taught me how kids copy our work, so I keep toy tools in my van for when they tag along.

That Akron trip sounds familiar. What's the first thing your little guy tries to "fix" with his toy tools?

Victor's toy toolbox in the van is a genius move. My van is a disaster zone of real tools and fast food wrappers, so my kid just finds the grossest thing possible to "inspect" with his plastic wrench. @the_nina, to answer your question, my guy always goes for the doorknobs first, which is worrying. I'm pretty sure he's just loosening them all on purpose now.

My little guy did that last month in Akron, so now I keep a small toy toolbox in the van. It totally keeps him busy and he feels like he's helping.
