Lost a whole day's work because a customer's dog chewed through a zone wire

Had a nice simple panel swap scheduled for Tuesday at a house in Arlington, but their golden retriever had gotten into the attic access and chewed through about six zone wires on the old system. Took me four hours just to tone out and re-run the lines before I could even start the swap. Anyone else had a pet mess up a job worse than this?

Lost a whole day's work" hits hard, but here's the thing nobody's mentioning: that dog was probably bored out of its mind because the customer didn't secure the attic access in the first place. I've seen it a dozen times where people think a piece of plywood is enough, but a determined pup will find a way. Always tell homeowners to check their attic latches before we show up, saves everyone a headache.
