Lost a whole afternoon because I didn't check the panel's firmware version first
I was on a job in Tempe adding a new wireless sensor to an older Vista panel. Spent 4 hours trying to get it to enroll before I finally checked and saw the firmware was from 2015 and couldn't support the newer hardware. Had to tell the homeowner we needed a full panel upgrade, which ate up my whole schedule. Anyone run into this with the Honeywell 21iP lately?

My last firmware surprise was on a Vista 20P in Chandler. I spent a solid three hours thinking the keypad was broken before I saw that ancient date. Felt like a real genius that day.

Piled on a half dozen of those myself. Bailey.sandra, that sticker trick is gold. Had a Vista 20P in Mesa where the keypad just locked up completely. Spent two hours swapping keypads, rerunning wires, even pulled out a multimeter. Finally noticed the firmware date was from 2010. Felt like a total idiot. Now I check that date first thing before touching anything else.

Always check the firmware sticker on the door now. Saved me from that same headache last month. What version were you stuck with?
