Had to choose between a wired and wireless setup for a big old house in Savannah

The client wanted a full system but the plaster walls made running wire a real pain. I went with a hybrid approach, using wireless sensors for most doors and windows but hardwiring the main panel and keypads. It added about two days to the job but the signal is rock solid now. Anyone else find themselves mixing tech on tricky old builds?

So when you say hybrid, did you run any wire for the sensors at all, or was it literally just the panel and keypads? I'm curious because I've had some wireless sensors act up in those thick wall houses, like a back door sensor in a brick addition that just would not talk to the panel reliably. Did you run into any spots where you just had to bite the bullet and fish a wire anyway?

Yeah we had to run wire for a few stubborn sensors in the basement, lmao.
