DAE think we push smart home integrations too hard when most of our customers just want the thing to beep?
Last Tuesday I was wrapping up a panel swap in a 1970s ranch house out in Mesa and the homeowner asked if the new keypad could talk to her fridge. I told her no and she looked relieved, which got me thinking about how much time I waste trying to upsell app control and voice stuff nobody asked for. In my experience, 8 out of 10 people just want the siren to wake them up at 3am and a keypad that works when the wifi drops. Every install I do now, I ask one question before I even quote the job: do you want this to be fancy or do you want it to be loud? Curious if other folks in here are seeing the same thing or if it is just my corner of the valley.
