Haha oh man, that sounds like a special kind of hell. Six hours chasing a ghost signal? I would have been ready to throw that sensor into the nearest lake by hour two. My luck with tech is so bad that I'd probably set off the alarm just by walking past the thing. Hope you at least got a good story and maybe a cold beer out of it.

Honestly, "throw that sensor into the nearest lake" is exactly what I was picturing after reading about that six hour chase. @leebrown I know my luck with tech too, I swear those things can smell fear. Did you at least find out if it was a wiring issue or just a straight up defective unit?
