Appreciation post: finally got a clean zone list on a 32 zone panel in Mesa
Customer called me back last Friday to say the keypad reads exactly the way I labeled it three weeks ago at her place off Brown Road in Mesa. It took me two visits and a full redo of the wiring at zones 14 through 17, but she said the grandkids can arm the system now without calling her. Been doing this 9 years and clean zone maps still feel like a win. How do you all label zones on bigger panels, paper list or just the app?

Funny thing, that feeling of finally getting something labeled right shows up everywhere. I spent a whole weekend once just sorting my garage shelves with a label maker, and now I actually know where the tape is. My mom did the same thing with her spice jars, wrote on the lids with a sharpie. There is something about a messy pile turning into a clear list that just calms your brain down. Two visits and a full rewire for zones 14 through 17 sounds like a pain, but that pay off with the grandkids arming it themselves is real. Paper list on a clipboard works for me on big jobs, since my phone always dies by the third panel.
