Watched a guy at the Tulsa hangar torque a fuel line to spec without a crows foot and it clicked for me
Twenty years of reaching for the crows foot on every B-nut and last Tuesday I watched him just clock the wrench off the flats with his palm and hit 40 inch pounds dead on, so now I want to know who else has ditched the adapter and what their knuckle skin thinks about it.

Forty inch pounds on a B-nut is no joke and I feel for your knuckles either way. I ran a crows foot for about eight years until an old A&P told me the offset just throws off your torque reading unless you do the math, so half the time guys are guessing anyway. Watched a guy lose a fuel line over that exact habit, so do what works but check your wrench once in a while.
