Warning: The new FAA wire bundle lacing cord is way better than the old stuff.

We got a sample of the new MIL-C-5649 Type II cord from a vendor in Phoenix and compared it to our old stock. The new cord has a tighter weave and doesn't fray as easily when you cut it, saving about 15 minutes per bundle on a typical panel job. Anyone else tried this stuff on a recent heavy check?

Did you hear if the new cord has any issues with the wax coating? I read a post from a guy at a regional carrier who said it can get a bit stiff in cold hangars, making the knots harder to pull tight.
