Vent: A 2 AM engine change that turned into a 4 hour wait for a $14 bracket
Last month I was on night shift at KCMH, swapping a fan hub on a 737. Everything was going smooth until I realized the new hub wouldn't clear the cowl. Turns out somebody in parts pulled the wrong bracket, and the right one was sitting in a locked cage across the ramp. The lead went to get it, and the key wasn't where it was supposed to be. We spent 3 hours hunting down the shift supervisor who had it in his pocket. That bracket cost 14 bucks. Has anyone else had a hold up like this where the part was never the problem, just the process around it?

Honestly, that bracket should come with a free therapy session.
