Senior mechanic in Dallas told me my torque wrench grip was off
He watched me for two seconds and said 'you're twisting your wrist instead of your shoulder' which explained why my C-130 torque readings were always inconsistent the last 4 years has anyone else had to unlearn a bad habit like that?

Yeah that note from @alice_barnes35 is smart, muscle memory is a pain to fix but worth it.

Got my torque game fixed by a guy at Dyess who made me do 20 reps with an unloaded wrench while he watched. Focused on keeping my elbow locked and rotating from the shoulder blade instead of the wrist. Took about two weeks of consciously checking myself before it felt natural, but my readings stopped jumping around. A buddy of mine still tapes a note to his tool box that says "shoulder not wrist" just to keep it fresh.
