Picked a manual torque wrench over a digital one for my personal box

I had to choose between a Snap-on digital and a Proto beam style last month at the supply house. I went with the Proto because I figured no batteries to die and I trust the old school feel. Used it on a C130 flap track bolt today and it clicked right at 80 pounds, dead on. Has anyone else gone back to manual and regretted it or stuck with it?

Dropped my digital torque wrench off the bench at work last year and the screen went wonky. Swapped it for a beam style and never looked back. No batteries to hunt down at 6am, no worrying about dropping it again. That old school bent beam is ugly as hell but it just works.

Wait, you straight up tossed a digital torque wrench and switched to a beam style because you dropped it once? That's wild to me! I mean, I get the battery thing is annoying but I would have at least tried to get it fixed first. Dropping tools happens to everyone, a beam wrench isn't exactly drop proof either. But hey, if it works for you and you're happy with it, that's what matters at the end of the day. I've never dropped a digital one but I can only imagine the panic when that screen went haywire.
