Overheard an apprentice call a torque wrench a 'clicky stick' and now I can't stop using the term
Was doing a gearbox swap on a 737 in Miami yesterday and this new kid asked for the 'clicky stick' for the final drive bolts, so I handed him the 3/8 snap-on and he torqued all 12 to spec without a single complaint, but has anyone else had a trainee invent a name that somehow just sticks around the hangar?

Three years ago I called a flashlight a "glow tube" on a 747 brake job and now every mechanic in our crew asks for it by name.

Buddy of mine at Delta once called a tie-down strap a "grabby rope" during a line shift and it's been on every parts order since, even the lead calls it that now.
