Damn, I used to think I was one of the good ones who always torqued stuff right... but after seeing that stat I'm not so sure anymore. Kinda makes me wanna double check everything now.

That 2019 study from the University of Michigan where they tested mechanics actually showed something wild. They found that about 40 percent of bolts on a standard engine rebuild were either too loose or too tight. The part that got me is how many people over-torqued things, thinking tighter is safer. I mean, it makes sense because when you've done it a hundred times you stop thinking about it. But idk, maybe we all need to just treat every bolt like it's the first time.
