Heard a senior tech say torque wrenches are overrated unless you're on turbines
I was grabbing parts at the supply shop Wednesday and this old-timer with 30 years told a new guy he's never used a torque wrench on sheet metal screws and never had a failure. On the other hand, every manual I've seen says to torque everything to spec for safety. Where do you all draw the line between experience and following the book?

Torque wrenches on screws? Thats a waste of time unless you're building a space shuttle.
