Found out most TSO parts don't come from the manufacturer you think they do
I was digging through some old AC 20-62 paperwork last week and noticed that a TSO-C9c part number I'd been buying from a big name actually gets made by a small shop in Oklahoma. Turns out something like 40% of approved parts come from random sub-tier vendors nobody talks about. Has anyone else traced a part back and found out the real source was completely different?

A buddy of mine works at a small repair station in Arizona. He bought a batch of TSO-C10b switches from a distributor, all stamped with a well-known brand. When he traced the lot number back, it led to a guy running a CNC machine in his garage outside Phoenix. The switches passed every test, but the paperwork trail was a mess.

Heard a similar story from a buddy in Tucson last year about brake parts.
