Borescope inspections: 5 years ago vs now, am I the only one who sees a different game?

Back in 2019 I could run a quick borescope check on a PT6 and call it good, but now I feel like every turbine wheel looks like it went through a sandstorm, even on low-time engines. The new compressor blade erosion I'm seeing in Texas seems way worse than what the old-timers describe from the 90s, and I'm wondering if it's the fuel additives or just better cameras showing what was always there. Has anyone else noticed this shift in what counts as normal wear since the switch to unleaded avgas, or am I chasing a ghost?

Is it just me, or does everything seem to be getting more complicated lately? Like, my dad used to change his own oil and check gaps with a feeler gauge, no fuss. Now my truck's computer throws a code if the tire pressure drops half a pound, and I'm supposed to interpret data streams like a doctor. Maybe the cameras really are just showing us the truth we were happy not knowing before. But I also wonder if we're just so used to seeing crisp, zoomed-in images that we've forgotten what "normal" grit actually looks like. It's like how everyone's complaining about their coffee tasting different now, and half the time it's just the cleaner they switched to.
