Blew $400 on a 'lifetime' battery cart that died in 8 months

Bought a fancy lithium battery cart from some online shop thinking I'd never deal with cables again. Eight months later the cells swelled up and it wouldn't hold a charge past 20 minutes. Shop refused a refund because I didn't register the warranty within 30 days. Anyone else get burned by those portable power units that claim to be 'hangar ready'?

Had a buddy buy one of those same battery carts for his Cessna. Worked great for about six months, then it started showing a red light of death every time he plugged it in. Emailed support and they said he needed a firmware update but the cable was proprietary and cost extra. By the time he got the cable the thing was completely dead and the company ghosted him. Now he just parks near a hangar with a regular extension cord like the old days.
