Appreciation post: the day I stopped guessing torque values on brake calipers

I was doing a brake job on a Cessna 172 at KAPA last spring, and I kept using the old 'good enough' method with a regular ratchet. Turned out I was overtorquing by almost 40 foot-pounds because my feel was way off. A senior mechanic watched me struggling and handed me a Snap-On torque wrench, and the difference was immediate. Has anyone else had a moment where a proper tool totally changed how you work on something you thought you had figured out?

Tell me about it, my torque guessing is so bad I once snugged a bolt tight enough to strip on a lawn mower.
