A grumpy old A&P at the hangar in Tulsa showed me the 1 inch socket trick and it saved me 2 hours on a brake job
I was doing a brake change on a 172 last month and could not get the caliper bolts broken loose, just no room for a breaker bar. An old timer named Ray watched me fight it for 20 minutes and finally walked over and handed me a 3/8 drive with a wobble extension and told me to come at it from under the gear leg instead. Took me 5 minutes after that. I have been doing brakes the hard way for 11 years and nobody ever mentioned that angle. What other simple tricks am I missing that nobody teaches in A&P school?
