The microwave trick I learned from a Reddit comment about frozen wings
Someone on a pizza forums thread mentioned microwaving frozen wings for 60 seconds before air frying to pull out extra moisture, and after testing it side by side on a batch of 12 wings last Sunday, the skins came out so much crispier that I'm honestly wondering why this isn't in every recipe guide, has anyone else tried this?

…and honestly I think you're just trading one problem for another. That extra minute in the microwave is gonna start cooking the meat from the inside before the air fryer even gets going, so you end up with a drier wing overall. Yeah the skin might crisp up faster but what's the point if the bite is tough and chewy? I've done the straight from frozen method for years and the longer cook time lets the fat render slowly, which is what actually gives you that crunch. Plus you're adding an extra step and another dish to wash for maybe a 5% difference in texture. If your wings aren't crispy, your air fryer temp is probably too low or you're overcrowding the basket, not because you skipped a microwave step.
