Switched from parchment paper to silicone mats for my air fryer wings
Used to line the basket with parchment paper every time I made chicken wings because it caught the drips nicely. After the third time the paper flew up and burned on the heating element, I bought a set of silicone mats off Amazon for $12. Has anyone else had the parchment paper catch fire or am I just unlucky with air flow?

Parchment paper fires are pretty common actually, the heat just hits it differently. Silicone mats don't crisp them up the same way, I'd stick with paper but weigh it down with a few veggie scraps.

Replying to @cameron_craig - yeah that makes sense about the veggie scraps weighing it down. Last time I tried silicone mats for homemade pizza I got this weird gummy texture on the bottom, totally not crispy. My roommate who used to work at a bakery told me they sometimes put a few ice cubes under the parchment to create steam, which sounds crazy but actually helps with even browning. Parchment paper is definitely the way to go for most roasted veggies too, especially if you're doing a big sheet pan dinner. Just have to remember to not crank the oven past 425 or it'll smoke up the whole kitchen.
