My neighbor's weird tip about frozen fries changed my air fryer game
I was talking to my neighbor, Frank, over the fence yesterday and he saw me dumping a bag of frozen fries into my basket. He goes, 'You're just putting them in dry? That's a CRIME.' He told me to toss them in a single teaspoon of cornstarch before cooking. I tried it last night on a batch of crinkle cuts and it was a total game changer. They came out crispier than ever, almost like they were double fried. I've had this air fryer for a year and never thought to do that. Has anyone else tried a weird little trick like that on a basic frozen food?

That cornstarch trick is a good one. It makes me wonder what other basic pantry items could work the same way. Like, would a tiny bit of baking powder on frozen chicken wings do something similar for the skin? Or maybe a light spray of oil with a pinch of flour on frozen onion rings.

But what about frozen fries that already have a coating, does the cornstarch still help or does it get gummy?
