My mom's old oven timer made me appreciate my air fryer more
Was helping my mom clean out her kitchen last weekend and she still has that old mechanical oven timer that dings so loud. She said she misses waiting for it because the air fryer beep is too quiet. Made me realize how much faster cooking has gotten even if I complain about the beeps sometimes. Anyone else find the air fryer too quick compared to old recipes?

That old mechanical timer is a classic. My grandma had one that would rattle the whole kitchen when it went off. I get missing the loud ding but the air fryer really does cut the time in half for most things. It's weird how we get used to the quiet beep though. I still catch myself checking on food way earlier than the recipe says because it cooks so fast.

Yeah but does the air fryer actually get that crunch the same way as the old one? Or is it just quicker but not as good?
