I called frozen fries in the air fryer a scam until my kid bet me a dollar
My 12 year old kept bugging me to try frozen fries in the air fryer, and I kept saying they would come out sad and pale like the oven ones. He bet me a dollar, so I finally tried it in our 5.8 quart basket at 400 degrees for 14 minutes, shaking halfway. They came out golden and crisp, way better than the 22 minutes in the oven, and I lost the dollar. Now I do a single layer, no oil spray, and a light toss at the 7 minute mark, which is the step that actually matters. I have done it 6 times in 2 weeks and only had one batch go soft, and that was because I piled them too deep. Anyone else find a frozen food that beat the homemade version in the air fryer?
Man, that dollar was the best money you ever spent! My wife figured out that tossing frozen shrimp in there for like 6 minutes beats thawing and cooking them any day, and she doesn't even like kitchen gadgets.
