I actually think frozen veggies come out better than fresh in the air fryer

I know everyone says fresh is always better but I did a side by side test last weekend with broccoli. I tossed fresh florets in oil and salt, then did a bag of frozen ones the same way. The frozen ones got way crispier in 12 minutes at 380 while the fresh ones turned out a little dry and burnt on the edges. I found this tip on a Serious Eats article from 2022 where they tested frozen vs fresh veggies in air fryers. The science is that frozen veggies have less moisture loss because they were blanched before freezing. So they hold up better to the high heat. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just getting bad fresh broccoli?

Found the exact same thing with green beans a few weeks back, frozen ones came out way crispier and didn't shrivel up like the fresh ones did. You ever try it with mixed veggie blends yet?
