Heads up: Skipping air fryer preheat made my dinner late

I was rushing to cook fries and didn't let the air fryer preheat. They took forever to get crispy, and I ended up waiting way longer than I planned. My whole evening was thrown off because of that one step. Now I always give it time to heat up properly. Don't make the same mistake if you're on a deadline.

Seriously, heating it up first for five minutes makes everything cook faster.

My neighbor never preheated their toaster oven and it caught a dish towel on fire last year. The whole thing was pretty dumb, they just shoved a frozen pizza in a cold unit and walked away. It started smoking like crazy within ten minutes. Turns out the heating element had some grease buildup and the slow startup made it worse. The fire marshal said consistent preheating is actually safer for a lot of these gadgets. Now we can all hear their smoke detector beep every time they test it.

Tried that once with some battered fish fillets, same story. They came out kind of sad and soggy. I found that with frozen stuff especially, those few minutes of preheating actually save time in the long run. The machine just seems to work better when it starts hot. Now I just set a timer and go unload the dishwasher while it warms up.
