Warning: People keep calling basic automation 'AI' and it's muddying the water for real innovation.
I saw a project labeled 'AI-powered' at a tech meetup in Austin, but it was just a simple scripted bot, and that mislabeling makes it harder to find actual machine learning breakthroughs.

My Austin meetup last week showed me how bad this naming problem really is.

Saw an article about how confusing names can really slow down team projects. Makes total sense after hearing your Austin story.

And that scripted bot probably just matched keywords or something basic. That's like calling a wrench a "robotic fastening system." I saw this spreadsheet tool at a construction expo that claimed to use "AI" but it just sorted data by color. People are slapping that label on anything with an if/then statement now. Real machine learning is out there but it's getting buried under all this hype. It's making it HARD for small businesses to know what to actually buy.
