Vent: I laughed at my buddy's AI plant doctor app, then it saved my $80 monstera
My friend Pete kept showing me this AI app that diagnoses plant problems from a photo, and I told him it was a gimmick for people who kill succulents. Then last Tuesday my monstera started yellowing and I snapped a pic mostly to prove him wrong, and it told me the exact issue (overwatering plus root rot) with step by step fixes. Has anyone else had an AI tool call them out like that, or did I just get lucky with a plant that wanted to live?
Ha, that is too good! I had almost the same thing happen with my fiddle leaf fig last spring. I swore the app was a waste of time and only tried it because my wife kept nagging me about the dropping leaves. It told me the light was all wrong and I was watering way too much, and sure enough the thing bounced back in a few weeks. I still give my buddy grief about his plant apps, but I have to admit they know their stuff. Guess we both owe our friends an apology on this one.
