Spotted a smart little tool at the hardware store in Denver

I was grabbing some paint and noticed a display for a small AI-powered sensor that tracks tool usage in a workshop. It was about 40 bucks and logs how often you use a drill or saw. Has anyone else seen these popping up in local stores?

Pretty sure those are more for tracking how many times you pick up a tool, not how many minutes you use it.

Na man, I track both on my tools and the distinction actually matters. Like when I'm sanding - I might pick up the sander once and run it for 45 minutes straight. That's one pick up but a ton of use time. Meanwhile I grab my tape measure like 50 times in a day but each time is just a few seconds. If you only counted pick ups you'd think I'm a tape measure pro and barely sand, but really I sand way more. The pick up counter is better for stuff like drills where you're doing quick in and out work.
