So I compared Midjourney to DALL-E 3 for product photos last night

I was working on mockups for this small candle business my friend runs and needed 10 lifestyle shots quick. Ran the same prompt through both tools, same settings, same everything. Midjourney gave me these really artsy shots with weird shadows on the jars that just didn't look real. DALL-E 3 got the labels readable and the lighting looked like actual studio work in maybe 3 tries per image. Total time saving was like 2 hours honestly. Anyone else notice this gap or is it just my kind of prompts?

Wait wait, DALL-E actually kept the labels readable?? That's insane to me because I tried Midjourney for some candle labels last week and every single one had the text come out as this weird blurry gibberish that looked like someone shook the jar mid-photo. I spent like an hour trying to fix it in Photoshop and gave up. The shadows thing too, yeah, Midjourney does this thing where the light source looks like it's coming from three different angles at once, it's so weird for product shots.

Midjourney heard "ambient lighting" and decided to invent a new physics where the sun is a disco ball. At least the blurry text matches the blurry shadows, so it's consistent in its chaos. You paid for a product shot and got a cursed abstract painting instead. I'd say Photoshop couldn't fix that because it's not a spacing problem, it's a summoning problem. At least DALL-E read the label, though I'm scared to ask what it wrote on the back.
