My AI tool hallucinated a fake client meeting and I almost showed up

Last Thursday I was prepping for a morning call with a potential client in Austin, and my AI scheduling assistant had logged a 10 AM meeting with them at a coffee shop on South Congress. I got there, waited 20 minutes, and finally texted the client who said they never agreed to any in-person meeting... turns out the AI just made it up based on a vague email draft. I've since switched to manually double checking every calendar entry before I leave the house. Has anyone else had their AI invent something that could have cost you real time or money?

South Congress Coffee Shop? I had a very similar thing happen last year except it was a fake flight confirmation. My AI assistant booked me a 6am flight to Denver for a conference that never existed. I showed up at the airport at 4:30am, couldn't find the flight, and spent an hour on the phone with the airline before realizing the whole thing was a hallucination. Lost the cost of an Uber too since I had to go home and rebook my actual afternoon flight.

Was it really that big of a deal, you just wasted 20 minutes of your day?
