My AI-powered tile layout assistant completely misread the room dimensions on a job in Tempe, Arizona, and I had to recalculate everything by hand.
The app, which uses a camera to measure spaces, told me a bathroom was 12 by 14 feet, but after cutting the first few tiles I realized it was actually 10 by 12, forcing me to stop and manually redo the entire layout plan on the spot. Has anyone else had a major measurement fail with these new visual AI tools, and what's your backup plan now?

Ugh, after my laser measure died mid-job, I just keep a trusty tape measure clipped to my belt now.

Man, that's rough. Sounds like my own personal rule of trusting tech only after it's been checked by something dumb and simple. Had a similar thing happen with a virtual staging app that made a closet look like a ballroom. My backup plan is just the classic tape measure, but I also snap a picture with my phone and jot the real numbers right on the photo before I even open the fancy app. It adds a step, but it saves that exact headache of having to stop and redo all your math on the floor.
