Just found out a major AI lab is training models on video game worlds for real world skills
I read a research paper from OpenAI where they're having AI agents learn in Minecraft to figure out basic tool use and navigation. They said the agents trained in the game world transferred those skills better to real robot tasks than ones trained only on abstract simulations. Anyone know of other projects using games this way?

That's a really clever way to get them to learn (makes total sense).

My kid would never touch a math worksheet, so I started baking with him. Measuring cups and recipe fractions turned into a game. After about three weeks, he was adding and subtracting them in his head without even realizing it. The trick was hiding the learning inside something he already wanted to do.
