I finally looked up how many AI research papers came out in 2023
Found a report from Stanford that said it was over 480,000, which is just wild to think about (I remember when finding a few dozen new ones a year was a big deal). How do you even begin to keep up with that kind of flood?

That number is honestly mind blowing. It feels impossible to even skim that many titles, let alone read them. Makes you wonder how any researcher is supposed to know what's actually new anymore. I bet most people just pick a tiny corner of the field and hope for the best. The whole thing seems kind of broken now.

Yeah the "pick a tiny corner" thing is so real. I just follow a few key authors on arxiv and let the rest be noise, honestly.
