Heard a guy at Micro Center say AI code tools make junior devs useless, and I think he has it backwards
I was standing in the checkout line at the Micro Center in Columbus last Saturday and some guy behind me told his friend that Copilot and Cursor mean nobody needs to learn to code anymore. But every dev I know uses these tools to skip the boring boilerplate and spend their time on the hard stuff, which means the bar is higher, not lower. If AI writes the easy 70%, doesn't that mean the remaining 30% needs someone who actually understands what the machine spit out?
