Heard a dev say 'AI is just autocomplete on steroids' and it kinda clicked

I was at a small meetup in Austin last week and someone said that during a talk about LLMs. At first I thought they were being dismissive, but honestly it made me rethink how I prompt these things. Instead of treating AI like a magic brain, I started writing prompts like I'm giving instructions to a junior dev who needs every detail spelled out. Has anyone else found their results got way better after changing how they talk to the AI?

Same as learning to talk to Google differently in the early days.

Guess Google was the first AI we all had to learn to talk to.
