Finally figured out why my GPT-4 prompts kept giving me junk answers

For about 3 months I was writing these long, detailed prompts thinking more info would help. Then last Wednesday I stumbled onto a YouTube video where a guy showed how shorter, more direct prompts actually work better. I tested it on a data analysis task I was doing for my side project and the difference was night and day. The long prompt gave me a rambling mess, the short one gave me exactly what I needed in one shot. Has anyone else hit a wall with prompt length before realizing less is more?

Yeah shorter prompts totally changed my results too once I tried it.
