Debate: Are AI art tools killing creativity or just changing how we work?

I've been going back and forth on this since last month when my buddy Dave used Midjourney to make a whole portfolio in one afternoon. He's a digital artist with 10 years experience, and he said it felt like cheating at first but now he uses it to brainstorm concepts before he ever touches his tablet. Three years ago, I remember sitting in a coffee shop in Portland listening to a guy rant about how AI would destroy illustration jobs forever. But then last week at a local meetup, a designer showed off a project where she used AI to generate 50 rough logo ideas in 10 minutes, then hand-refined the best one into something amazing. Both sides seem to have solid points. Are these tools actually making us less skilled over time, or are they just the next version of Photoshop replacing airbrushes? Has anyone else here tried mixing AI into their creative process and felt weird about it?

Hold up, Photoshop REPLACED airbrushes, it didn't just change how they worked.

Knew a guy who tried using an airbrush at a local fair, spent an HOUR trying to get it to not splatter and gave up. He just uses Photoshop filters now instead.
