Wasted $400 on a project management tool my team barely touched
Three months ago I signed us up for that fancy PM platform everyone raves about, the one with the fancy timelines and automations. First month we used it daily, second month it was a ghost town, and by month three I was paying $400 a month for a glorified calendar. The real kicker? My team kept falling back to a shared Google Sheet that we already had, and it did 80% of the job with zero cost. I should have tested it with a 6 person pilot for two weeks before rolling out to all 18 people. The training materials looked great but nobody watched them, and the support guy in Chicago basically told me to 'check the help center' when I asked about reporting. Has anyone else sunk money into a tool that your staff quietly ignored, and what did you do with the yearly contract?
