Rant: Had to pick between a huge client meeting or my team's yearly review day
The meeting was for a potential $50k project, but the reviews were already set for months. I picked the reviews, and the client ghosted us anyway. Do you ever feel like you make the 'right' choice and it still blows up?

My buddy skipped his own birthday party to finish a work report that was "critical". His boss never even opened the file, and he missed the cake. It was a total lose-lose.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling ever. Why does that always happen? I had a similar thing last month where I turned down a freelance gig to help a friend move, which felt like the decent thing to do. The friend ended up canceling last minute and the gig went to someone else. It's like the universe punishes you for trying to be responsible.
