Picked a retainer client over a big project in Austin, and my cash flow finally stopped scaring me
I was 3 weeks from payroll with $11k in the bank and had to choose between a $40k one-off project or a $6k/month retainer from a smaller shop, and I took the retainer, which covered rent and salaries for 7 straight months, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has turned down a big lump sum for steady money and regretted it.
