One bad Tuesday that cost us a whole account in Minneapolis

Last spring we had a single day where everything fell apart. Our project manager called in sick, the client's main contact sent a rude email about a missed deadline, and then our lead designer quit at 2pm. I spent the next 4 hours on the phone trying to smooth things over, but the client already told their boss they wanted out. We lost a $38k annual retainer over one afternoon. Has anyone else had a single day where the dominoes just kept falling, and how did you recover?

Ugh, that reminds me of the time our office lost power right before a big client call and someone tried to dial in from their car. The call went fine but the car alarm went off halfway through and we never heard back from them. Still not sure if that was the reason or not, but we never got a second meeting.
