I finally got burned by a $300 SEO tool that promised the moon
Signed up for RankTracker Pro last month after their sales guy said it would find all our keyword gaps. Three weeks later I realized it was just pulling data from a free API and adding a fancy interface. Called and asked for a refund, but they said the 14 day window passed. Any of you use something that actually works for tracking local rankings?

Has your friend tried BrightLocal or just dealing with the same kind of bait-and-switch?

Girl, YES. BrightLocal pulled the exact same stunt with us - took our money and then suddenly we're paying double for the same features.

three weeks later" - are you kidding me? So they waited until just after the refund window closed to spring the bad news on you? Man, that's dirty. I've heard of companies doing that before and it makes my blood boil. They hook you with the sales pitch, you give it a fair shot, and then bam - you're stuck paying for something that's basically a free API wrapped in some colors. Did they at least offer you a partial refund or try to upsell you to a higher tier?
