Client asked for a "rebrand" but meant a new font color
Had a call last week with a local coffee shop owner in Portland who said they wanted a full rebrand. I spent 3 days pulling together mood boards, competitor analysis, the whole deal. Get to the meeting and she just wanted to change the logo from dark brown to light brown. I charged her for the full package anyway since she didnt give me clear specs upfront. Has anyone else dealt with clients using fancy terms they dont actually understand?

Man, I gotta say that's frustrating but good on you for charging full price. A buddy of mine runs a small design shop in Seattle and had the exact same thing happen with a yoga studio owner. She kept saying she wanted a "brand refresh" and he spent two weeks on new patterns, typography stuff, even some packaging concepts. Turns out she just wanted to make her logo text green instead of blue. He didn't charge her extra though and regretted it hard. Clients love using big words to sound serious but half the time they just want a tiny tweak. It's like they think saying "rebrand" makes them sound important when really they just picked a new color off a paint swatch.

3 yoga studios in Portland tried the same thing last month, @angela_wilson78, but I think charging full price still scares off good clients sometimes.
