A client told me my project updates felt like a 'black box' and it clicked
Last month, a client in Chicago said, 'We get your weekly email, but we have no idea what happens between point A and point B.' I was just sending a list of tasks we completed. Now, I send a short Loom video walkthrough of the actual work, even if it's just a 90-second screen recording. It shows the progress, not just the result. Has anyone else switched to video updates for client reports?

Yeah, that "very bored spreadsheet" line from @riley_singh is too real.

Oh man, the "black box" line hits hard. I've definitely been that person just sending a list of "did this, did that" like I'm reading a robot's grocery list. My updates were so dry, a client probably thought their project was being built by a very bored spreadsheet. Switching to a quick video sounds way better, actually showing the thing moving around. I should try that before my next client just assumes I'm a very advanced chat bot.

That video idea is smart because it builds trust. Showing the work in progress makes clients feel included, not just billed. It turns a boring update into a real conversation.
