Vent: I used to pitch every agency service as a package deal and nobody bit
For like 2 years I was selling web design, SEO, and content as one big bundle because I thought it looked more legit. Then last spring a client straight up told me they just wanted a landing page refresh and nothing else. Has anyone else found that offering individual services actually gets you more leads than forcing a full stack?

Ha yeah I went through the same thing. I used to bundle everything together thinking it made me look like a full service shop. But once I started just offering single services like "hey I can just do your SEO" or "let me just fix that landing page" people started actually saying yes. They liked not having to commit to some big thing right away. Now I let em pick whatever piece they want and half the time they come back for more later anyway.

My buddy Jake stopped doing packages and his leads tripled in two months.

Honestly I wonder if this is more about how people perceive you than the actual service you offer. Like when you do packages it kind of screams "I'm trying to sell you something" but when you go piece by piece it feels more like you're just helping them out with what they actually need. Maybe it's just me but I think a lot of small business owners get nervous when they see a big bundle price tag even if it's a good deal. It might trigger that "oh no this guy is gonna upsell me on stuff I don't want" feeling in their gut. So going a la carte probably makes them feel more in control and less like they're being pitched to. That alone could explain the jump in leads without even changing the quality of your work.
