Switched from hourly pricing to fixed project fees and my revenue jumped 40% in 3 months
I used to bill hourly for everything. Thought it was the only fair way. Then last year I took on a website build for a local plumber in Dayton and tracked 28 hours on it. Client was happy but I only made $1,120. Next week I quoted a similar project at $3,500 flat and finished it in 19 hours. That math woke me up. Now I price all web work as packages with clear scope. Has anyone else made this switch and seen weird side effects like clients asking for less revisions?

That math is brutal but real. People value fixed prices more.

My buddy runs a small dev shop in Cleveland and after he switched to fixed fees his clients stopped asking for "just one more little tweak" on every project... they actually think twice before emailing now.
